Hex Sweeper
A downloadable game
Move your cursor with the D-pad, click with B, or toggle a flag with A or C. Flag all of the mines as quickly as you can! You can see your fastest times on each difficulty mode in the title screen, and in the current mode during gameplay. Challenge your friends for the best times!
This game was actually one of the first I ever made, having begun in 2016 and seeing its latest commit in 2019. The goal was to make a game that was fun and had both sound and colour-graphics within 8KB of total ROM space for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis home console. I succeeded in that goal, and learned a lot in the process! Especially regarding compression. I still consider the decompressor in this game to be among the best code I've ever written.
Anyway, to play it you will of course need an emulator for this console. I personally use Genesis Plus, but that's a mac app. If you're on one of the other OSs (Windows, Linux, etc), I hear that BlastEm is probably good.

hi! i do have a mega drive now, but no everdrive. i could make a standalone cart with eeproms, but my supplies for that lie in my home country, to which i will not return for another year. thanks for checking in!
Gotcha. The x3 is pretty affordable @ $40ish US. *pokes you with stick :p
I bought the x5 so i don't have to remember to reset before powering off (SRAM).

i’ve still not managed to grab an everdrive, so i can’t test on real hardware, but i have just pushed a version which works on the emulator that was giving you trouble. i hope that it works on your real system as well!

Getting music, with a black screen in both my MegaRetroN HD/x5 EverDrive, and RetroArch/Genesis Plus GX v1.74 Emulator.
Hope to see a patch in the future. I love mine sweeper, and efficient code. :)
thanks for the report! i hope to test on real hardware once i’ve got all the materials available to do that. for now, i can say it works for me on Genesis Plus (the mac app) and PicoDrive (in retroarch). hopefully i can release a v1.1 that makes it work everywhere !
